Weekly Blood Glucose Management Summary

Looking back at this week's blood glucose management, I was able to maintain high awareness toward the second half of the week and gradually bring in a positive wave. Although there were periods in the first half when the numbers were on the higher side, I feel it was an excellent opportunity to review my daily rhythm. While there were some gaps in the data, looking at the overall picture provided many clues to help me improve next week.

Particularly positive was the decline in average blood glucose levels leading into Friday and Saturday, showing a stable trend. On the other hand, I noticed a slight tendency for blood glucose levels to rise from late night to early morning. This could be influenced by dinner choices or meal timing.

For next week, with the goal of stabilizing overnight blood glucose levels, I plan to make some adjustments to the content and timing of my dinners. Without rushing, I will continue managing my levels comfortably at my own pace.

Weekly Trend Analysis

Reflecting on this week's trends, the overall average blood glucose level was 191 mg/dL, and the TIR (Time in Range, the percentage of time spent within the target range of 70–180 mg/dL) was 48.2%. Additionally, the CV (Coefficient of Variation), which indicates blood glucose variability, was 34.7%. It was pleasing to see that this met the target benchmark of 36% or less.

Looking at the graph, high blood glucose levels exceeding 250 mg/dL were prominent in the first half of the week (Sunday and Monday). However, toward the second half, the time spent within the green target range clearly increased. Note that there was a period of unmeasured data during this report window, making it impossible to confirm the week-over-week comparison from the image. Nonetheless, I want to focus on maintaining the positive changes seen in the latter half into next week.

Daily Summary Analysis

Looking at the daily data, there were distinct characteristics depending on the day of the week. The best day was Saturday (July 4), with a low average blood glucose level of 138 mg/dL and stable fluctuations throughout the day. Thursday (July 2) also showed a low average of 131 mg/dL, but since this was measured over only a short period during the night, it is reasonable to think that stability genuinely improved heading into Friday (average 156 mg/dL) and Saturday.

On the other hand, the highest glucose variability occurred on Monday (June 29), with an average blood glucose level of 246 mg/dL and a peak rising to 351 mg/dL. Sunday's average was also on the higher side at 230 mg/dL, which may have been influenced by meals over the weekend or changes in my daily rhythm at the start of the week. The stabilization of numbers toward the end of the week is likely due to the positive impact of regular weekday habits.

AGP Analysis

Analyzing the AGP (Ambulatory Glucose Profile), which summarizes the 24-hour blood glucose trend, highlights my patterns during different times of the day. Looking at the daily trend (the dark blue median line), levels are highly stable around 130–150 mg/dL from about 9:00 to 13:00, showing a tendency to stay within this range during the day. Regarding hypoglycemia risk, although the lower boundary drops slightly between 14:00 and 16:00, it did not reach dangerous hypoglycemic levels, which is reassuring.

A future area for improvement seems to be the late-night to early-morning period (around 21:00 to 5:00 the next morning). Blood glucose levels start rising after 21:00, likely post-dinner, and tend to peak between 3:00 and 5:00. Additionally, during this timeframe, the light blue shaded area (representing variability) widens significantly, indicating high daily fluctuation and elevated risks of hyperglycemia on certain days. This could be influenced by the carbohydrate content of dinners or pre-bedtime routines.

Key Successes of the Week

  • Average blood glucose levels decreased significantly in the latter half of the week (Friday and Saturday), increasing time spent within the target range.
  • The CV (Coefficient of Variation), which measures glucose variability, was 34.7%, staying below the target threshold of 36% and maintaining relatively stable trends.
  • Blood glucose levels were beautifully controlled within the target range during the daytime hours (9:00–13:00).
  • I safely got through the week without experiencing any severe hypoglycemia.

Areas for Improvement for Next Week

  • To moderate the overnight to early morning rise in blood glucose, I will adjust the portion of my dinner's main carbohydrate and balance my side dishes.
  • I will try eating dinner slightly earlier or doing light stretching before bed to help stabilize overnight glucose levels.
  • I will focus on proper sensor management and making scanning a habit to reduce missing measurement data.
  • While some metrics like GMI (Glucose Management Indicator) could not be verified from the images in this report, I will pay closer attention to handling the device so that all data is properly recorded next time.

Conclusion

Through this week's review, I have gained a very clear understanding of my blood glucose patterns and specific trends at different times of day. Building confidence from the wonderful stability seen in the latter half of the week, I will continue to gradually adjust my daily meals and lifestyle habits within a manageable range next week. Step by step, listening to my body, I will keep up the positive and enjoyable management of my blood glucose!
